How Hotel Casting Works

InterJump uses this interaction to securely associate the guest's device with the appropriate room casting environment. This is an important part of a hospitality casting solution. In a property containing dozens or hundreds of rooms, guests should not be presented with a long list of televisions or casting devices belonging to other rooms.
OPEN YOUR APP AND CASTOnce connected, the guest opens a compatible casting-enabled application on their own device and taps the familiar Cast icon. The casting destination for their room becomes available and the selected content can be played on the larger hotel TV. The guest continues controlling playback from their own device — providing an experience similar to casting at home.
What happes behind the scene?
For the guest, hotel casting is simple. Behind those few steps, InterJump manages the relationship between the guest device, hotel Wi-Fi network, room and casting endpoint.
When a guest scans the casting QR code for their room, InterJump establishes a temporary association between that guest and the appropriate room casting environment. The platform then allows the guest to discover and communicate with the casting device assigned to their room. This is fundamentally different from placing every hotel Chromecast or casting device onto one unrestricted network. In a properly designed hospitality casting environment, a guest in Room 302 should interact with the TV in Room 302 — not televisions in neighbouring rooms or elsewhere in the property. InterJump manages this room association while working with the hotel's network infrastructure to provide the device discovery required for casting, without unnecessarily exposing other room casting devices to the guest.
